ABOUT UPRISING PROMOTIONS

Uprising Promotions

Rooted in Boxing Tradition

Based in New York City, Uprising Promotions was founded in 2013 by former professional boxer Ronson Frank, who retired as an undefeated light heavyweight following a 17-fight career. Frank comes from a high-pedigree boxing family and has been surrounded by the sport since he was a young child. His brother, Raul, fought the late Vernon Forrest on two occasions for the IBF welterweight title, and his brother, Steven, challenged Bernard Hopkins for the IBF belt when Hopkins was amid his legendary middleweight championship run.

From New York City to the World

Throughout its more than a decade in the business, Uprising Promotions has hosted a consistent schedule of sellout shows in its home base of New York City. Additionally, the company has routinely co-promoted cards that take place throughout the United States and all over the globe. From a broadcast perspective, Uprising Promotions has co-promoted cards on major television networks such as Showtime, and it has independently managed international pay-per-view events in the United States and Jamaica. At the core of the success for its events and programming has been the exceptional matchmaking of Ronson Frank.

Resilience in the Ring and Beyond

Awarded as the Rising Promotion of the Year by RING8 in 2016, Uprising Promotions has seen continual growth and development since its foundation. With Ronson Frank being a former professional fighter who grew up surrounded by boxing, he brings a unique and distinct perspective as a promoter that enables him to view the sport from virtually every angle. That level of experience is the reason why Uprising Promotions has withstood the difficult navigation of professional boxing, even during a global pandemic.

Boxing for a Cause: Broad Street Brawl

After taking some time away to restructure and develop a focused strategy for the future, Uprising Promotions officially returns to the New York City boxing scene in 2025 for a May 29th show at the Leman Ballroom at 41 Broad Street. Broad Street Brawl will feature boxing for a cause, with all funds going to Bigvision Community, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting young adults in recovery from substance abuse.
